Fresh Cucumber Pickles
Heat 1 cup white vinegar and 2 cups sugar until sugar dissolves but do not boil; cool.
Sprinkle 7 cups sliced cucumber with 2 tablepoons coarse salt and let stand.
Add 1/2 tea spoon turmeric and 1 tablespoon each celery seed and mustard seed to vinegar mixture and 1 cup sliced onion to the cucumbers.
Pour vinegar mixture over cucumbers and onion.
Pack into pint jars, seal tightly and store in refrigerator
