Sliced Sweet Pickles
|Garlic||3 Clove (15 gm)|
|Salt||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Cracked ice||1 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||5 Cup (80 tbs)|
|Vinegar||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Mustard seed||2 Tablespoon|
|Turmeric||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Celery||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Slice cucumbers, green peppers, onions and garlic paper thin.
Layer vegetables, salt and ice in crock; let stand, covered, for 3 hours.
Combine sugar, vinegar, mustard seed, turmeric and celery salt in large kettle; bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
Add vegetables to syrup; mix well.
Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
Pack in hot sterilized jars; seal.
