Sweet Peach Pickle

Ingredients
  Peaches 7 Pound
  Brown sugar 3 1⁄2 Pound
  Vinegar 1⁄2 Pint
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Allspice 1⁄2 Ounce
Directions

Boil together vinegar, sugar, and whole spice.
Stick two cloves into each peach.
Put a dozen or more peaches in at a time into boiling syrup and cook until they can be pierced with a straw.
Fill jars with peaches.
Cook syrup until thick, and pour.
