Dill Pickles Short Method
|Cucumbers||8 Pound, cut into halves lengthwise (6 Inch)|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Canning salt||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Mixed pickling spices||3 Tablespoon|
|Dill||8 (Green / Dry, 1 Head Per Jar, Adjust Quantity As Needed)|
Combine sugar, salt, vinegar and water in a large sauce pot.
Tie spices in a cheesecloth bag; add to vinegar mixture; simmer 15 minutes.
Pack cucumbers into hot jars, leaving 1/4-inch head space; put a head of dill in each jar.
Bring vinegar and water to a boil.
Pour hot liquid over cucumbers, leaving 1/4-inch head space.
Process pints and quarts 15 minutes in boiling water bath.
