Dill Pickles Short Method

Ingredients
  Cucumbers 8 Pound, cut into halves lengthwise (6 Inch)
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Canning salt 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vinegar 1 Quart
  Water 1 Quart
  Mixed pickling spices 3 Tablespoon
  Dill 8 (Green / Dry, 1 Head Per Jar, Adjust Quantity As Needed)
Directions

Combine sugar, salt, vinegar and water in a large sauce pot.
Tie spices in a cheesecloth bag; add to vinegar mixture; simmer 15 minutes.
Pack cucumbers into hot jars, leaving 1/4-inch head space; put a head of dill in each jar.
Bring vinegar and water to a boil.
Pour hot liquid over cucumbers, leaving 1/4-inch head space.
Adjust caps.
Process pints and quarts 15 minutes in boiling water bath.
