Bread And Butter Pickles
|Salt||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||5 Cup (80 tbs)|
|Vinegar||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Turmeric||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground cloves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Mustard seed||2 Tablespoon|
|Celery salt||1 Teaspoon|
Slice cucumbers and onions thinly and mix in salt.
Cover and let stand for three hours.
Pour this syrup over cucumbers and onions.
Heat to boiling point but do not boil.
Put into hot jars and seal immediately.
