Wholemeal Pizza With Green Pepper And Mushrooms

  Pizza base 1
  Dried yeast 2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Lukewarm water 1⁄4 Pint (150 Milliliter)
  Plain flour 8 Ounce (225 Gram)
  Salt 1 Pinch
  Olive oil 1⁄2 Teaspoon
For topping
  Tomatoes 14 Ounce (396 Gram)
  Onion 1 , peeled and chopped
  Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm), crushed
  Salt To Taste
  Black pepper To Taste
  Mozzarella cheese 8 Ounce (225 Gram)
  Dried marjoram/Oregano 2 Teaspoon
  Green pepper To Taste, seeds removed, cut into rings
  Button mushrooms 4 Ounce, wiped clean and cut into thin slices
  Olive oil 4 Tablespoon

1 Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.(200°c/Gas Mark 6)
2 Grease two baking sheets with oil.

3 In a bowl, mix the yeast and the sugar with half the water.
4 Set aside in a warm place until frothy, for about 10-15 minutes.
5 In a bowl, put the flour and the salt and add in the yeast mixture, the remaining water and olive oil.
6 On to a lightly floured board, turn out the mixture and knead for about 5-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
7 Return to the bowl, covering with cling film or a cloth.
8 Allow to stand in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size for about 1 1/2 hours.
9 Meanwhile, into a saucepan, empty the contents of the can of tomatoes along with the onion and garlic.
10 Simmer, uncovered, for about 30 minutes, until reduced to a thick puree.
11 Correct the seasoning.
12 Divide the yeast dough into four equal pieces.
13 Roll each piece into a circle of about 15 cm (6 inches) in diameter.
14 Place the circles on the two prepared baking sheets.
15 Cover with the tomato sauce.
16 Sprinkle with cheese and herbs.
17 Neatly arrange the green pepper rings and sliced mushrooms on top of the pizzas.
18 Cook in the oven for about 15 minutes.

19 Slice and serve at once.
