Elk Chili

Chili is an all time favorite classic recipe. Whether you are making it for the first time or are an expert a great recipe like this is elk chili going to ensure that you enjoy every bit of it
Ingredients
  Onion 1 Large
  Green pepper 1 Medium
  Elk 1 Pound
  Shortening 3 Tablespoon
  Canned tomatoes 29 Ounce
  Salt 2 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Paprika 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Cayenne pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Whole cloves 3
  Bay leaf 1
  Chili powder 2 Tablespoon
  Canned kidney beans 10 1⁄2 Ounce
Directions

Brown onion, green pepper and elk in shortening.
Add tomatoes, salt, paprika, cayenne pepper, cloves, bay leaf and chili powder.
Simmer for 2 hours, add- ing water as necessary.
Add beans; cook for about 10 minutes longer.
