Stuffed Green Peppers
|Green peppers||6 Medium|
|Ground chuck||1⁄2 Pound|
|Coarsely chopped onion||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Tomato sauce||8 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Tomato paste||6 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Elbow macaroni||3 1⁄2 , cooked, drained (1/2 Of A 7 Ounce Package)|
|Shredded process american cheese||4 Ounce (1 Cup)|
Cut a thin slice from stem end of peppers; remove seeds and membrane.
Wash peppers and parboil in salted water about 5 minutes.
Cool in cold water; drain.
Melt butter or margarine in skillet.
Add beef and onion; brown meat, stirring often.
Add tomato sauce and paste, macaroni, salt and pepper; mix well.
Fold in cheese.
Fill peppers with mixure.
Arrange in shallow baking dish or pan.
Center on cooking grill.
Cover kettle and cook 25 to 30 minutes or until piping hot.
