Braised Okra With Chili
|Onion||1 Large, sliced|
|Garlic||3 Clove (15 gm), sliced|
|Fresh root ginger||2 Inch, peeled and finely chopped|
|Fresh green chilies||2 , deseeded and finely chopped|
|Chili powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Okra||1 Pound, trimmed (500 Grams)|
|Water||7 Fluid Ounce (200 Milliliter)|
|Desiccated coconut||2 Teaspoon|
Melt the ghee or butter in a large wok or saucepan.
Add the onion, garlic, ginger, chillies and chilli powder and fry gently, stirring occasionally, for 4-5 minutes until soft.
Add the okra, water and salt to taste.
Bring to the boil, lower the heat, cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes until the okra are just tender but still firm to the bite.
Stir in the coconut and serve hot.
