Garden Marinade

  Tomatoes 2 Small, cut into wedges
  Green pepper 1 Medium, cut into rings
  Cucumber 1⁄2 Medium, thinly sliced
  Onion 1⁄2 Medium, sliced and separated into rings (Red / White Colored)
  Vinegar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salad oil 2 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Dried basil 1⁄2 Teaspoon, crushed
  Salt 1 Dash
  Pepper 1 Dash
  Lettuce leaves 4

In a large mixing bowl combine tomatoes, green pepper, cucumber, and red or white onion.
In a screw-top jar combine vinegar, oil, sugar, basil, salt, and pepper.
Cover and shake well to mix.
Pour over vegetables; toss to coat.
Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 4 hours, tossing occasionally.
Line a serving plate with lettuce, if desired.
Using a slotted spoon, transfer vegetable mixture to the plate.
