Braised Okra With Chillies
|Onion||1 Large, sliced|
|Garlic||3 Clove (15 gm), sliced|
|Ginger root piece||2 Inch, peeled and finely chopped (Or 5 Centimeters)|
|Green chilies||2 , seeded and finely chopped or minced|
|Chili powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Okra||450 Gram, topped and tailed|
|Desiccated coconut||2 Teaspoon|
Melt the ghee in a large saucepan, add the onion, garlic, ginger, chillies and chilli powder and fry gently for 4-5 minutes until soft, stirring occasionally.
Add the okra, water and salt to taste.
Bring to the boil, then lower the heat, cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes until the okra are just tender, but still firm to the bite.
Stir in the coconut and serve hot.
