Pickled Sick El Pears

Ingredients
  Vinegar 1 Pint
  Water 1 Pint
  Sugar 3 1⁄2 Pound
  Cinnamon 1 Tablespoon
  Allspice 1 Tablespoon
  Cloves 1 Tablespoon
  Ginger root 1 Ounce
  Sickle pears 7 Pound
Directions

Combine vinegar, water and sugar.
Tie spices in bag; add to vinegar mixture.
Boil mixture for 5 minutes.
Pare pears, leaving on stems; add pears, a few at a time, to syrup.
Cook until tender and clear.
Place pears in hot sterilized jars.
Pour in syrup to cover and seal.
