Fresh Pear Crunch
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
Peel and halve pears; arrange in baking dish.
Mix sugar, 1 cup water and cinnamon together; pour over pears.
Mix flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt and shortening together until crumbly;sprinkle over pears.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until pears are tender and top is golden brown.
Serve with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
