|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs) (To 2 Pears)|
|Cochineal coloring||2 Drop|
Peel pears, halve, and remove cores.
Dissolve honey in water and bring to the boil with cloves and rind. colour red.
Place pears, cut side downwards, in a fireproof dish and pour liquid over.
Bake at 300° F for 21/2 - 3 hours.
The pears should be dark red and semi- transparent.
Chill and serve with whipped cream.
