Saucy Poached Pears
|Pears||3 Large, pared|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Orange juice||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
|White grape juice||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Cinnamon stick||1 (Whole)|
|Orange||1 Large, peeled and thinly sliced|
Cut pears in half lengthwise; insert 2 cloves in broad end of each pear half.
Heat sugar, orange juice, lemon juice, white grape juice, and cinnamon stick to boiling, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved; place pears in fruit syrup.
Simmer uncovered, 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until pears are tender.
Remove cinnamon stick.
Place pears on serving dish; add orange slices and cherries.
Pour fruit sauce over pears.
