Rutabaga And Pear Puree
|Rutabaga/Yellow turnip||1⁄4 Pound, peeled and cubed (1 small sized one, 625g)|
|Ripe pear||1 , peeled, cored and cut in chunks|
|Sour cream/Plain yogurt||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
In steamer over boiling water, steam rutabaga for 15 minutes or until nearly tender. Add pear; cook for 5 to 10 minutes or until rutabaga is tender. Drain well.
In food processor or blender, puree rutabaga mixture until smooth. (Alternatively, mash or push through food mill.) Add sour cream, butter, nutmeg, and salt and pepper to taste; process just until combined. Reheat in saucepan over medium-low heat or in microwave until heated through.
