|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Peanut butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sifted all purpose flour||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs) (robin hood)|
|Chocolate bits||6 Ounce (1 package)|
Cream shortening, peanut butter, sugar, egg and vanilla.
Measure flour, salt and soda onto waxed paper.
Stir thoroughly to blend.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to the creamed mixture.
Roll out cookie dough on a floured cloth covered board to a rectangle 1/4 inch in thickness.
Melt chocolate bits over hot water and cool slightly.
Spread on rolled cookie dough.
Roll up lengthwise, jelly roll fashion, and chill for 1/2 hour.
Slice with a sharp knife into thin slices 1/8 inch thick.
Place on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 350Â° F. (moderate) for 8-10 minutes.
