Salted Peanut Sticks

Ingredients
  Soft butter/Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Vinegar 1 Teaspoon
  Grated lemon rind 1 Teaspoon
  Allspice 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Sifted all purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salted peanuts 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), chopped
Directions

Cream first 4 ingredients together until fluffy.
Add lemon rind and allspice.
Work in flour and peanuts.
Press mixture firmly and evenly into 8-inch square pan lined with waxed paper.
Chill in freezer until firm.
Remove from pan, and peel off paper.
Cut square in half; then slice each rectangle into 1/4-inch slices to make fingers 4 inches long and 1/2 inch wide.
Place on oiled cookie sheets, and bake at 325°F. 25-35 minutes or until lightly browned.
Makes 5 dozen.
