Black Eyed Peas
|Black eyed peas||1 Pound (Fresh)|
|Cooking oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Chopped ham/Bacon / chopped onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped onion||1 Tablespoon|
1. Take a 3-quart saucepan, add peas and cover with water.
2. Add salt and oil and stir.
3. Add chopped onion, ham or bacon, according to taste.
4. Allow the mixture to boil and then, lower the heat.
5. Simmer, covered, for about half an hour or till tender.
6. Top with chopped onion and serve hot.
