Remove tips and strings from fresh pea pods.
In saucepan combine fresh or frozen pea pods, sugar, 1/2 cup water, and 1 teaspoon salt.
Cover; bring to boiling.
Boil 2 minutes; drain well.
Heat and stir butter till light golden; toss with pea pods.
Season with salt and pepper.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
