Homemade Pigs In A Blanket
|Ground beef||1 1⁄2 Pound|
|Chopped onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Bread crumbs||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Separate cabbage leaves being careful to keep a leaf in as big a piece as possible.
Boil in a big kettle till soft.
Drain and let cool slightly.
Combine hamburger, salt, pepper, egg, onion and enough bread crumbs to make mixture stick together.
Make into large meatballs.
Wrap in cabbage leaves.
Place in large kettle; cover with water almost to top of cabbage.
Put in shortening,salt and pepper to taste, for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
