Sweet Pastry Shell

Ingredients
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Lard 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Butter 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Egg 1 , beaten (lightly)
Directions

Heat oven to 400 degrees.
Have ready 9-inch pie plate.
Sift flour, salt and sugar into mixing bowl.
Add lard and butter and cut in coarsely.
Stir in egg with a fork.
Gather the dough into a ball.
Roll the dough between 2 squares of waxed paper into a round large enough to hang over edge of the pie plate.
Peel off top piece of waxed paper and invert pastry into pan.
Peel off remaining paper.
Turn under edge of pastry and build a high fluted edge.
Prick pastry all over with the tines of a fork.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until nicely browned.
Cool.
