Ingredients
  Sifted flour 225 Gram
  Salt 1 Pinch
  Chilled butter 115 Gram, cut into small pieces
  Ice cold water 1 Cup (16 tbs) (As Required)
Directions

MAKING
1. Into a cool bowl, tip in the flour and salt and add the butter. Fold the butter into the flour with 2 knives or a pastry blender or finger tips to create a breadcrumb like appearances.
2. Gently sprinkle in the required amount of ice-cold water, a little at a time, and mix to make firm dough that is soft and pliable with no cracks.
3. Dust a cool surface or board with a little flour and knead pastry lightly till it is smooth and formed. Cover with cling film or a damp tea cloth and chill for 20-30 minutes.

SERVING
4. Use as a pastry base
