Quick Pastry Twists
|Shredded cheddar cheese||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Pie crust mix||1 (1 Package, Enough For A Single-Crust 9-Inch Pie)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
|Caraway seed||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Poppy/Sesame seed /coarse salt||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
Combine cheese with pie crust mix; add water and blend according to package directions.
Turn out on a lightly floured board and roll into a 4 by 15-inch strip.
Brush with egg and sprinkle evenly with caraway, poppy, or sesame seed, or coarse salt.
Cut across dough to make 1/2-inch-wide strips (each 4 inches long).
Holding each strip at the ends, twist in opposite directions.
Place about 1 inch apart on greased baking sheets and bake, uncovered, in a 400° oven for 10 minutes or until golden.
Serve warm or cooled.
