|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sifted all purpose flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Caramel syrup||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chopped nuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and beat well.
Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with syrup, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
Pour into greased and floured pan (9x9x2 inches) and bake in preheated slow oven (300°F.) for about 20 minutes.
Cut into squares and let cool in pan.
