|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Boiling water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sifted enriched flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Melt 1/2 cup of butter in the cup of boiling water, place in a saucepan.
Add the flour sifted with salt all at once to liquid ingredients, stirring constantly.
Cook this until mixture leaves the sides of the pan in a smooth ball.
Remove from heat and cool for about one minute.
Add eggs, beating vigorously after each egg is added, until the mixture becomes smooth and shiny.
Drop by full rounded teaspoons on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake in hot oven 400° F until golden brown (about 18 minutes).
