Herb & Parmesan Pastry
|Cream cheese||8 Ounce (1 Package At Room Temperature)|
|Butter||1 Cup (16 tbs) (At Room Temperature)|
|Unbleached white flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Crumbled dried oregano||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Basil leaves/Rosemary / combination||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Grated parmesan cheese||2 Tablespoon|
In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy. Stir in flour, herbs, cheese and salt. Gather dough in your hands and gently shape into a flat ball. (For turnovers and tarts, divide dough into 4 equal portions). Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 3 to 4 hours or overnight.
Before rolling, let dough stand at room temperature until slightly softened (up to 1/2 hour if refrigerated overnight).
