Quick Puff Pastry

  Flour 8 Ounce (225 Grams)
  Salt To Taste
  Unsalted butter 8 Ounce (225 Grams)
  Water 4 Fluid Ounce (125 Milliliter)

Sift the flour and salt into a mixing bowl.
Rub in half the butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Add the water and mix to a firm dough.
Chill for 15 minutes.
Put the other half of the butter between two sheets of greaseproof paper and beat until it forms an oblong shape about 1.5 cm./ 3/4 in.
Roll out the dough into a rectangle .75 cm./ 1/4 in.thick.
Place the butter in the centre and fold the dough over it to form a parcel.
Chill for 10 minutes.
Roll the dough, with the folds downwards, away from you into a rectangle.
Fold in three.
Turn once, so that an open end is towards you.
Roll out again and fold as before.
Chill for 15 minutes.
Repeat this process twice more, then chill for at least 30 minutes before using for best results.
