Raisin Pastry Squares

Ingredients
  Water 1
  Milk 1
  Sugar 1
Directions

In saucepan cover raisins with water; bring to boiling.
Remove from heat; let stand 5 minutes.
Drain and set aside.
Thoroughly mix flour, salt, and baking powder.
Cut in butter till mixture is size of small peas.
Gradually add 5 to 7 tablespoons milk, gently mixing with fork till all is moistened.
Form into ball.
On lightly floured surface roll to a 17x11-inch rectangle, rolling from center to edges.
Spread raisins evenly over length wise half of dough; sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar over raisins.
Fold dough over to cover raisins; seal.
Transfer to baking sheet.
Brush with milk; sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 375° till golden, 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool; cut in squares.
