Basic Pastry Shell
|All purpose flour||1 Cup (16 tbs) (unsifted)|
|Ice water||2 Tablespoon|
Preheat oven in Convection Bake to 450°F (*425°F).
Combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles the size of small peas. Sprinkle water over flour-shortening mixture. Stir with fork to form ball.
Roll out on floured pastry cloth with rolling pin to 1/8 thickness. Let stand a few minutes before shaping.
Line a 9-inch pie plate with pastry dough shaping to the edge of pie plate. Prick pastry with fork.
Convection Bake for 9 to 12 minutes. Pastry is done when it looks dry and blistered and is not doughy.
