"Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in mixing bowl.
Beat egg yolks until thick and lemony; beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Combine milk, egg yolks and butter in small bowl; mix well.
Add to flour mixture; beat until smooth.
Stir in apple; fold in egg whites.
Pour batter by 1/2 cupfuls onto hot ungreased griddle; cook until puffy and bubbly.
Turn; brown other side.
