High Protein Waffles Or Pancakes
|Whole wheat flour||2 Cup (32 tbs), sifted|
|Wheat germ||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Eggs||3 , separated|
|Powdered skim milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Melted margarine||8 Tablespoon (1 Stick)|
|Baking powder||3 Tablespoon|
Beat egg yolks until light.
Add milk and melted margarine.
Add sifted dry ingredients and wheat germ.
Beat egg whites.
Fold into batter.
Pour on hot griddle or waffle iron.
Variations: Add 1 cup of chopped apple, drained blue berries, or dained pineapple to batter before folding in egg whites.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped pecans over batter.
