|Plain flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Buttermilk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Butter/Vegetable oil||2 Tablespoon, melted|
Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda and sugar into a mixing bowl.
In another bowl beat the eggs, then beat in the buttermilk.
Add the egg and buttermilk mixture to the flour and mix thoroughly.
Add the melted butter or vegetable oil and beat well.
Set aside and allow to stand for at least one hour.
Lightly oil a frypan or griddle and put over a medium to high heat.
Pour two tablespoons of the batter onto the pan and cook until bubbles appear and begin to break.
Turn and cook on the other side.
