Creamy Scalloped Oysters
|Buttered rolled cracker crumbs||2 Cup (32 tbs) (They Should Be Coarse)|
|Heavy cream||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Buttered cracker crumbs||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Ground nutmeg||To Taste|
Butter a baking dish well and cover with a layer of cracker crumbs.
Cover with a layer of oysters, seasonings, and a little of the cream; dot with butter.
Cover with buttered crumbs.
Add another layer of oysters and seasonings and more cream.
Top with additional cracker crumbs, dot heavily with butter, and season.
Add a touch more cream and bake in preheated hot oven (425°F.) for 20 to 25 minutes.
