Ingredients
  Oysters 1 Quart (Select Variety)
  Top milk 3⁄4 Quart
  Butter 3⁄8 Cup (6 tbs) (3/4 Stick)
  Finely minced parsley 1 Tablespoon
  Shallots 2 Tablespoon, finely chopped
  Lemon juice 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Red pepper To Taste
  Cracker crumbs 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs) (Not Cracker Meal)
Directions

Butter shallow casserole.
Put layer of oysters in bottom of dish.
Sprinkle parsley, shallots, salt, pepper, and a little lemon juice.
Sprinkle cracker crumbs, then another layer of oysters, parsley, shallots, and crumbs.
Just before baking, pour milk over contents of casserole, letting milk mix with oysters.
Dot with thin slices of butter.
Bake 1/2 hour in a slow oven.
