Oysters A La Osage

Ingredients
  Oysters 2 Cup (32 tbs), cut if large
  Freshly grated nutmeg 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Bacon slices 6 , cooked crisp and crumbled
  Shredded swiss cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Whipping cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Coarsely broken salted soda crackers 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Grease a shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
Arrange the oysters and their juices in the dish, grate nutmeg over them, and sprinkle on salt and pepper.
Sprinkle on the bacon and cheese, pour the cream over all, then cover with cracker crumbs and dot with butter.
Bake uncovered in a 400° oven for 20 minutes.
