Non-Alcoholic Wines Have Health Benefits? Yep!
Two decades after they were introduced, a study has finally proved that the non-alcoholic wines have health benefits for the heart. Just like regular wine, non-alcoholic wine is made with fermented grapes, but the alcohol is removed before they are distributed commercially.
A new study conducted by the University of Barcelona suggests that a glass of non-alcoholic wine has more health benefits for the heart than a glass of red wine. Also known as de-alcoholized wines, these wines are known to effectively lower blood pressure in men who are at a higher risk for heart attack. When asked to describe the effect these wines have on heart health, one of the researchers said, "The non-alcoholic part of the wine -- namely polyphenols -- exert a protective effect on the cardiovascular system. Polyphenols also have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that may be useful to prevent other diseases such as diabetes". Looks like we can finally enjoy some wine that has benefits besides not giving you a hangover ;)
