Ingredients
  Hush puppy mix 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs) (Commercial)
  Canned whole tomatoes 8 Ounce, drained and chopped (1 Can)
  Onion 1 Small, chopped
  Chopped green pepper 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Crushed red pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Garlic powder 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 1 Pinch
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Beer 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Vegetable oil 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Combine first 8 ingredients; make a well in center of mixture.
Combine egg and beer; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened.
Drop batter by ta blespoonfuls into deep hot oil (375°); fry only a few at a time, turning once, 3 to 5 minutes or until hush puppies are golden brown.
Drain on paper towels
