Spiced Orange Flowers
|Softened butter||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Grated orange peel||1 Tablespoon|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Orange juice||3 Tablespoon|
|Sifted flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Diced candied orange peel||1 Tablespoon|
Cream butter and sugar .
Stir in orange peel .
Add egg; beat well.
Stir in orange juice; sift remaining dry ingredients together.
Add to first mixture gradually.
Mix well; wrap in foil.
Chill for 6 hours; roll 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured board cut in diamond shapes.
Fold the 2 longest points of each diamond to center, overlapping slightly.
Place piece of candied orange peel in center of each place on greased baking sheet.
Bake at 400Â° for 8 to 10 minutes; cool store in airtight container
