Preserved Oranges Majestic
|Water||6 Cup (96 tbs)|
|Navel oranges||1 1⁄2 Pound, washed (6 Small)|
|Water||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|White vinegar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Light corn syrup||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Cinnamon sticks||6 (2 Pieces Of 3 Inch Each)|
Bring water to boiling in a saucepan.
Add oranges and simmer, uncovered, about 15 minutes or until tender.
Drain oranges and cut into quarters.
Meanwhile, mix in a 3-quart saucepan the 1 1/2 cups water, vinegar, corn syrup, and sugar.
Stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
Add the cloves and cinnamon and bring mixture to boiling.
Boil vigorously, uncovered, without stirring, 15 to 18 minutes, or until syrup thickens slightly and turns to a light golden color.
Remove from heat and add the orange quarters; coat evenly with glaze.
Turn into a bowl.
Cool, turning pieces occasionally.
