|Sweet onions||2 Large, coarsely chopped (2 Cups)|

|Condensed cream of celery soup||10 3⁄4 Ounce (Use 1 Can)|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Seasoned pepper||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Canned cut green beans||1 Pound, drained|
|Processed swiss cheese||16 Ounce, sliced|
|French bread slices||12 (0.50 Inch Thick)|
Melt butter or margarine in a large frying pan; stir in onions and garlic; cover.
Cook for 15 minutes; stir in soup, milk and pepper; heat, stirring several times, until bubbly.
Make two layers each of beans, cheese slices and sauce in a buttered 8 cup baking dish; arrange bread slices, overlapping, on top.
Bake in moderate oven (350Â°) for 30 minutes, or until bubbly hot
