Sherried Creamed Onions

Ingredients
  White onions 12 Small (Winter)
  Butter 3 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Flour 2 Tablespoon
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sherry wine 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Blanched almonds 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Peel onions.
Cut into thick slices.
Melt butter; add onions and salt.
Cover and cook until onions are tender (approximately 20 minutes).
Sprinkle with flour, stirring carefully.
Add milk and cook gently until sauce is thickened.
Add sherry and almonds.
