Glazed Onions

Ingredients
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Water 3 Tablespoon
  Butter 3 Tablespoon
  White wine vinegar 1 Tablespoon
  Tomato paste 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Dried thyme 1⁄2 Teaspoon, crushed
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Bay leaf 1
  White onions 2 Ounce, frozen (packages small)
  Raisins 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
Directions

In 10-inch skillet combine sugar, water, butter or margarine, wine vinegar, tomato paste, salt, thyme, pepper, and bay leaf.
Bring to boiling, stirring to dissolve sugar.
Add onions and raisins.
Return to boiling.
Cover; reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.
Uncover and cook 20 to 25 minutes more over medium heat, stirring frequently till glazed.
Remove bay leaf.
Serve warm with pork or veal.
