Ingredients
  Mild onions 6 Large
  Bacon fat 4 Tablespoon
  Breadcrumbs 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Grated cheese 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Paprika 1 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

This recipe starts in the skillet and ends in the oven, a good one to prepare for company, as it is easy on the cook.
Saute the onions in bacon fat in a medium-size skillet.
When they are just tender but not browned, add salt and pepper to taste.
Place the onions in a shallow, greased baking dish.
Sprinkle the top with bread crumbs, cheese, and paprika.
Bake in a moderate 375°F oven until the topping is lightly browned.
