Baked Onions Au Gratin

Ingredients
  Butter 1 Teaspoon (To Grease)
  Onions 12
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
  Chicken stock/Beef stock 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Cheddar cheese 2 Cup (32 tbs), grated
Directions

GETTING READY
1. Apply a coat of butter on a 9" or 10" ovenproof dish
2. Preheat the oven to 325°F

MAKING
3. Add peeled onions into the buttered dish, sprinkle salt and pepper over it andpour the stock on top
4. Cover and bake at the centre of the oven for an hour until tender; if needed, add more stock
5. Spread a layer of grated cheese on top and place under the broiler for a few minutes till the cheese melts

SERVING
6. Serve as appropriate
