Braised Onion Slices
|Olive oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Onions||4 Large, cut into 1-inch slices (Peeled)|
|Broth||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Whiskey||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Melt the butter in a heavy saucepan.
Add olive oil.
Add the onions and sear over high heat for 2 minutes.
Add salt, broth, and pepper and reduce the heat.
Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
Add the whiskey, if desired, and let the sauce cook down slightly.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
