Spiced Glazed Onions
|White onions||18 Small, peeled|
|Olive oil||1 Tablespoon|
|Freshly ground black pepper||To Taste|
|Chicken stock||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|White vermouth||2 Tablespoon|
|Chopped fresh parsley||2 Tablespoon|
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cut a cross in the root end of each onion to prevent the centers from falling out.
Brown them in butter and oil.
Season with pepper.
Place onions with their cooking butter into a baking dish.
Add bay leaf, chicken stock and vermouth.
Cover and bake 1 hour.
Turn onions every 20 minutes.
Garnish with parsley to serve.
