Spaetzle With Cheese And Onions

Ingredients
  Spaetzle 2 Cup (32 tbs), cooked, drained (1 Recipe)
  White onions 2 Medium, chopped
  Butter 5 Tablespoon
  Grated gruyere cheese/Grated swiss cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Fine breadcrumbs 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Cook the onions in 2 tablespoons of butter until soft, but not brown.
Stir in the spaetzle.
In a buttered baking dish arrange half of the spaetzle and onion mixture in a layer, sprinkle half of the cheese, then half of the breadcrumbs, and dot with half of the remaining butter.
Repeat the layering, and bake in a preheated 375-degree oven for 30 minutes or until the top is golden.
