Wild Pickled Onions

Ingredients
  Wild onions 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Water 2 Quart
  Salt 4 Tablespoon
  Vinegar 1 Quart
  Granulated sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Red pepper pod 1⁄2 Inch
  Bay leaf 1⁄4
  Whole clove 1
Directions

Soak unpeeled onions in 1 qt.water with 1 Tbsp.salt added for 12 hours.
Drain and remove skins.
Soak onions in 1 qt.water with 3 Tbsp.salt added for 48 hours.
Drain well.
Bring vinegar to boil.
Add onions and boil for 3 minutes.
Immediately pour into sterilized qt.jar.
Add red pepper pod, bay leaf and clove.
Seal.
