|Fat||1 Cup (16 tbs) (For Deep Frying)|
Wash okra; cut into 1-inch pieces.
Liberally sprinkle pieces with salt and pepper.
Put cornmeal into brown paper bag; shake okra in bag to coat each piece with meal.
Fry in deep fat (375 °F) until golden brown and crisp; drain on paper towel.
